  • Injection Molding Operator:

    The purpose of an injection Molding Operator is to insure that the parts being molded meet customers' expectations called out on the customer's specifications or ATL manufacturing work instructions(MWI). Molding Operator must know and understand customer's quality expectations through the use of the ATL MWI and Quality System and on the Job training. Skillset includes capability the set up and maintenance of molds, molding machines and ancillary equipment for production. In addition, must understand the production standards and communicate any variances to customer specification or MWI to their Supervisor. Molding Operator is expected to perform all activities in a safe manner and report any unsafe working conditions. The molding machine work areas are to be maintained in a clean and organized state at all times.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality checks on molded parts and records required information on quality documents.
  • Maintain specifications by observing work instructions for each product and taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; answering alarms; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Learn and apply quality and production standards to all customer products
  • Ensure all customer quality expectations are met
  • Perform activities in a safe manner
  • Must have an acceptable attendance record
  • Must be able to learn and run all Injection molding machines, parts, jobs, secondary and processes
  • Changing, start up, shut down and in press PM activities on injection molds
  • Set up molds, machines and ancillary equipment to achieve optimum operating efficiency
  • Proper installation and removal and handling of all molds
  • Adjust and improve existing processes and procedures if necessary
  • Review, propose and implement process changes to improve production efficiency.
  • Set up new tools and establish optimum processes
  • Pull and set up molds in preparation for standard production builds
  • Keep up with established molding through put rates
  • Log all rejects and keep track of all production counts. Keep good parts separated from bad or defective parts
  • Assist with on the job training with new associates when they are assigned to you for training.
  • Support new project introduction activities including test production runs, tool qualifications, first articles, resin qualification and process control set up for all new products.
  • Participate in review and approval of new product, drawing and material selections, if required.
  • Provide feedback on new tool designs and tool modifications to engineering
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer skills would be preferred.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of gauges and measurement instrumentation would be preferred.
  • Use reading and writing, basic addition and subtraction of whole numbers, following instructions, use of fixed gauges, direct reading of instruments and similar devices where interpretation is not required
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to work some overtime hours and some flexibility to work on Saturdays
  • ATL will do some of the training in-house if needed



Education & Experience Requirements:


  • High School Education or equivalent
  • 4-5 years Molding Experience
  • 1-2 years Minimum Manufacturing Experience
  • Dependable hard working
